Advice please! When should I bring in my lone chick?

Put in a 3 ft tall ledge/table/cardboard box type of thing in front of the nest and, voila, problem solved for where to put the water - on second though, maybe cardboard and water mixes a little too good - stick with wood.

Can you move her, nest and all, to the ground/floor? If you can, maybe do it at night when she's asleep. You could maybe put the nest in a milk crate or something tipped on its side and put it in a corner of the coop. Then they'll both be at ground level so she can eat and teach her baby how to eat and forage.

Mimichick - I think this is what I need to do. I just hope Mama wouldn't go back up to her box. I'll have to monitor them I guess. Could not get Blizzard to eat or drink this morning, I got a full day of work so DD will have to take over. She still looks perky and Mama is proud as a peacock! No other eggs are pipping so I'll be ready to take all these duds out and today and look at them to see if they had been developing or what.
