Advice Please!

I'll upload some photos and maybe a video tonight guys,

I have them out in the yard being babysat by my neighbor (Older, Retired, Divorced). We both have acreage but our houses are right next to each other so she is supervising them while the kids are at school and my wife and I are at work. She called me this morning and said that my Cayuga Duck and Rouen Drake are laying with her (Smellma the Goose) but my Pekin Duck is still trying to pull feathers occasionally. My Pekin was the one I anticipated having the biggest issue with because when the Wild Mallard Drakes come across the road from the other neighbors pond my Pekin will put the beat down on them.

I will stop by and get some stuff for her tonight like Miss Lydia suggested. I feel like I rescued her. The lady I got her from just throws her Geese and Ducks out by her pond so she had yard ornaments. When one gets taken she gets another...some people do not deserve these animals!!! They are pets like dogs and cats to me IMHO!!
Sounds to me like you did rescue her, good for you. does she have more Smellma's size maybe a friend for her would be in order. lol[naw we don't encourage[enable at all ]

The lady caught her with a NET!!! I said verbatim "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING!!!"

I can catch a wild duck...you know move real slow arms out wave your fingers and talk real softly...

I would love one more but my wife is a city girl I moved to the country...As a kid I had ducks (my best pets), chickens (not a fan) and peacocks (they were super mean to me). This is my first goose and getting another waterfowl will get me in the coop with them if you know what I mean!

That is so traumatizing for the gosling and the human watching. I guess she figured that was the fastest way. That's too bad you can get her a buddy of her very own, They really do so much better if they have another one to relate too.But ducks can be companions too.

THEY ARE STARTING TO DO WELL GUYS! My kids are getting along! :p

I'm keeping the divider up in the coop tonight. I'll try to get a shot of her back end where she has an a thigh bigger on one side.

See what I was talking about. Is this normal?
Relax, that is perfectly normal. She just hasn't developed a "pouch" on the other side yet, and may not. I am not sure exactly what they are, I think some sort of fat storage. Both of my females developed dual "pouches" so big they drug on the ground. But after going broody and sitting on a nest for a month with minimal food, they are almost completely gone. I am guessing they absorb nutrition from them. My gander does not have any at all.

Had to edit to add my compliment. She is a very cute little girl. Pretty face.

I believe they're called "lobes" on geese. Cas has them too so now I'm wondering if Cas might be a lass? Lol
Cas is a good non-gender specific name. You will know if she is a lass when you see the egg...which may not come until next season.

I did have to giggle a bit when I saw the picture of the "deformed" hip. Not at the OP but at myself. When I first got my geese and the females began to develop their "lobes" I just knew they had some sort of tumor. I was ready to fly in a specialist. That is how new and innocent I was. Now I am a goose grandfather and proud of it.
