My duck (about 6 weeks old) was attacked by my Jack Russell/chihuahua mix. He was bit on his left thigh, and it’s causing him to not put any weight on it. I put him in the tub and washed him off with antibacterial soap. I then put some Neosporin on the wounds. They don’t look too deep, but you can tell he is uncomfortable. I brought him and his friend that he bonded with inside. They can still sit/be with one another, but they can’t touch for the sake of his mate nibbling at his wounds. Is there anything I need to do specifically? Our vets around here don’t treat ducks, I’m in the middle of no where, but still want to make sure he is getting the best care possible.

Welcome to BYC! Can you post pictures of his wounds?

Go to your local TSC and buy blue kote. Spray that on. It will stain the leg blue but it will rinse off in a month or two. Or who knows it may stay forever. I used it on one of my ducks like four months ago and it’s still there. Also spray saline wound wash on it
