Hi.So I have 2 silkie hens and about 2 weeks ago they went broody.I gave them some eggs to sit on but I found out that none of them were fertile. So I tossed them out and tried breaking my hens boodyness. But it did not work.So I put them back in the coop whith the other hens but I close off the nest boxes whith chicken wire to see if that would help. One of the hens had already broken her wing and I am worried that she and the other hen will injure themselves trying to get into the nest bo.Does anybody know what to do or have a alternative solution.? any suggestions greatly appreciated I really need help on this one.😖

How did you try to break their broodiness?
Around here, the only sure fire way to get the job done is to lock them into a wire dog crate and elevate it.

I put a piece of wood in the crate for them to sit on and give them food and water and there they stay for three days and two nights. At the end of the third day, I let them out about 1 hour before roost time and watch them.
If they roost with the flock, they can stay out of the crate.
If they go to a nest box, they go back to the crate for another night and day and we try again the next night. This continues until they roost.

I put them in a wire dog crate during the day and in the hen coop at night whith the nest boxes wired off .I went in to check the next morning and they had so how found a way to get into the nest box (past 2 layers of steel chicken wire).should I just leave them in there day and night for a few days and see how hat goes?

Yes, that was the recommendation. That prevents them from even getting near the nest.
How large is your coop?
