Hello, my geese have a clutch of 11 eggs. Four hatched this morning, but Mom has stopped sitting on the remaining eggs. I know it takes 2 - 3 days for them all to hatch, but shouldn't she still be sitting on them? Should I be concerned?

Most will stay on the nest for up to 36 hours after the first gosling hatches. Can you place the remaining eggs in an incubator? If you can hatch them, she will probably accept them. Good luck in resolving this problem.

I don't have an incubator. We ended up taking the four goslings that have already hatched, and she immediately went back to the nest. We're going to what happens for the next day or two. If no one else hatches we'll remove the eggs.

Sadly, no. She kept sitting on them, but no one else hatched. It's sad to see so many eggs unhatched. I hope she has a better hatch rate with her next clutch.

We returned her babies, ues. :) I don't want to her laying another clutch any time soon. We're moving, lol.
