Hey guys! Newbie here so don't judge! My little Silkies are ready for their next step in the food department. What are some great suggestions? I have a Big R & Farm N Fleet near me (same as tractor supply). What would you all suggest as the next food to get? I feed organic. Any brand names you prefer? Thanks! Also, Dottie here says hello!

:welcome no judgement :) we are all here to learn and help others with what we do know. I do not feed organic, but lots of people do so I'm sure someone can recommend a good brand for you. Your silkie is the cutest. I have 2 myself...there's a silkie thread here ya can join too! I want to get some other colors, but that's gonna be next year as I've went a bit overboard this year already...fell victim to chicken math...lol.

I'm at 5 now and the only thing stopping me from falling into that deep hole is only being on a half acre of land

I'm only on an acre but am moving the end of this month to 10 acres. So I splurged, but now I have to build bigger coop and move more birds than I planned on. My other half was dreading every visit to feed store, trying to by pass the little chicks Everytime we went last couple months..those tiny ones are hard to resist

Hahaha that's awesome

I did a bit of research on here for you. There are a couple threads on organic feed. Some have suggested Nature Smart, which my local Rural King carries cuz I've seen it and Purina makes a line of organic too. Called Purina Natural. If you go to search bar and type "organic feed brand" it should give you some threads with opinions of people who have used them and maybe some other brands. Good Luck with those beautiful Silkies!

Thank you so much!!!!

Oh and there is probably a state thread for people who live near you on here. There you may be able to find someone in your area that can tell you where they carry certain brands.
