So, dangerous heat mid-week, low of 58F last night and it won't break 80F today, then back to dangerous heat mid-week.

I was worried about the babies in the integration pen because they're not 4 weeks until tomorrow, but they came through fine.

Chickens are tough, adaptable animals -- they probably take these rapid weather swings better than we do. :D

Here in SD, we have large temperature swings all through the year. It is not unusual to have swings of 40-60 degrees or more, in the winter and summer.

Never seems to phase mine.

We're more likely to get wide swings late fall through early spring.

Summer temps staying between 90-100F with nights in the 70's for weeks is normal here in June, July, and August.

People are talking a lot about the terrible heat wave, but we've actually had a late-arriving summer after a cold spring.
