My LF brahma hens have been laying for close to two years now.

DH just informed me that when he was moving the tractor yesterday he saw an egg on the bush hog. I went out to the tractor and sure enough, there was an egg, slightly cracked, so it had stuck to the top of the mower deck.

I'm not sure which hen, though I suspect one of my light brahmas "Snowy", has been leaving OOPS eggs in the coop as well. I call eggs that don't make it to the nestbox oops eggs.

Are accidents - not making it to the nestbox - normal after a period of time? The girls have always been diligent about using their nestboxes.

Gosh, Gritsar has an unanswered post. Will wonders never cease.

Sorry Grit can't help you much. Mine went just the opposite way. From oops to nestbox kinda girls.
Could one of them be afraid of your wild birds?

My chickens, who are mostly in their 2nd year of laying, still miss the nest box from time to time (eggs found in the run, or on the coop floor) - maybe once a month? Not including the ones that are quite intentionally laid in a "secret" nest in the barn!
