Woah! really?! Dang, well, I'd still say try a 20 ga. Get a good recoil pad, and Remington makes a lot of managed recoil ammo... If ya do get a shotgun, get a Rem. 870 Express, ya can pick 'em up cheap, I caint say enuff good things about it!

My dad told me a shotgun has quite a bit of kick back. My first thought was "I bruise like a peach!" maybe I'm not cut out for shooting

I really just want to learn to shoot because I am terrified of guns. I was the same way about flying, then my dad took me up and did some barrel rolls. Now I love flying. So, I hope the same thing happens with shooting. I did hold the shotgun and felt a lot better about it just doing that.
