First time momma to 6 hens (I hope). I purchased them 3/19/10 from feed store on Long Island that could not tell me exact age so I'm going to guess they were two weeks old when I got them and now about 5 or 6 weeks old? They said they paid extra to have them sexed so I'm hoping they are all ladies. The man told me I had an Ideal, Barred Rock, Americana and Rhode Island Reds. Okay I know the twins, Jo and Meg are my RIRs. Can anyone help me with rest. Also, what next on feed? Two more weeks on crumble and them switch to Chick grower, right? One more thing, we are having really nice weather here so can I put them outside yet? Are they old enough? The man said not until May.

Your Ameraucanas are actually crossbred chickens called Easter Eggers - Both are girls.

The Barred Rock also looks like a pullet, and the RIRS seem so too.

the age sounds about right. First is barred rock, second ameraucana. I don't know about the white. Is it a leghorn? then 2 RIR. The last one...? They all look like pullets to me. The white one has pretty big legs and comb, but I don't know for sure which breed so won't say roo anyway.

Ideal was probably the hatchery that they came from, if I had to guess.

Aunt March is your barred rock pullet
Marmee is your Easter Egger pullet (the one they called Ameraucana)
Beth looks a little boyish, but not for sure. White Rock breed?? Not sure.
Joe and Meg are Rhode Island Red pullets
Amy looks like another Easter Egger pullet

Aunt March is about 5-6 weeks, cause she looks just like our barred rock pullets of that age.

Do you think they can go outside yet? We are not allowed a roo in our town. I hope she is not .

Yes the can go outside, they're nicely feathered in now. . . Just as long as it isn't snowing there.
