Age for wattles?

I just noticed this morning that one of my 3-week-old chickies has little wattle buds. I’m trying not to freak myself out that this means cockerel. I don’t remember my older girls getting them this young, but I really can’t be sure. What is an average age for pullets to develop wattles? Cockerels? Is it maybe a breed thing?

Whats the breed? Some do develop earlier. My 4.5 week chick has just started to show wattles, and she is sex linked, so I know she's female. My 3.5 week rock still has no wattles.

Don't freak out...
.... but, sorry, yes, that red of a wattle at 3 weeks is almost surely a male.

Kind of an odd comb, wonder if bird is a mix.

Not same breed, but same age. I have what I’m pretty sure is a buff brahma (again, per the folks here):

Just wanted to update this, in case someone in the future sees it and wants to know (I hate when posts aren’t updated when I’m searching for answers!). This golden laced Wyandotte turned out to be a hen. She started laying at about 5 months old.

Nice update! As I was scrolling through the earlier pics I was thinking to myself how I didn't think it looked like a cockerel at all and sure enough she is a beautiful girl!
