AGE & GENDER?

That makes perfect sense! I totally understand all of that, I prefer having an even number of pullets and at least two of each breed/color too. Keeping just the 4 BO's sounds like the easiest route, especially if having 4 works best in your enclosure anyway. You are totally right, young chicks are a ton of work!

I'm really curious how this turned out. Do you have a definitive on the Cockerel yet?... I have a similar situation where these 2 are starting to look different... ?? Are they both pullets or no ?? They're about 10weeks...

Yikes, looks like the one on the right in the pic is a Cockerel. I was correct with my pair, a friend took them but won't be able to breed them (siblings). The LO female is just so PRETTY :love may trade her 2BO for the LO pullet :fl since we're considering LO x BO = ? From what I've seen here, should get like a gold laced pattern. Then try the LO to one of those chicks :pop

Oh wow I hope you post pics if you decide to breed. No surprise I was just wondering what I'd get too, as I have 1 BO. I will now have to find out if these 2 are siblings, they might not be... Thanks!
