age of chicks

hello all...i just bought some chicks from tractor supply...they are already feathering out in their wings...and i think their tails have started also...at what age does this happen? thnx for the info:jumpy
 
My Partridge Rocks are a week old and some have 1 to 1.5 inch wing feathers, it's very variable among them, some are barely showing. None have tail feathers starting, so that should peg you somewhat.

I think it varies some by breed as well. We have a variety of chicks that we always brood in the house for about 10-12 days and I've really noticed a wide range in how different breeds mature. Would guess yours are 5-9 days old.
