Age question

Harley's girl :

I would say 8-12 months, he does not have long spurs, his saddle feathers are not too long, and his tail does not look that long.

I have a New Hampshire Red that is almost a year old. (He will be in March) and he has about the same length tail, spurs, and saddle feathers. If you rooster would have yellow legs I would say he is a NHR. But he doesn't so..... I guess he's not.

He is actually a dark buff orph. Sorry should have clarified that. The pics just aren't the best b/c I took them with the camcorder.

He is the most gorgeous color. That's why I want to use him, I just wasn't sure if he was old enough to fertilize eggs, if he is, the other roo is GONE!

LOL I don't blame you there! I would keep him too! Have you seen him flirting with the hens yet? I thought that my 5 or 6 month old was too young to be breeding, but one day when he had a hen all alone and the big roo was on the other side of the coop BAM! He flirted, mated, and had run away all in seconds!! (Of course he was then running for his life as big Mr. Kellogg did not like the fact that he had seen one HIS girls just mated by another rooster!!) So I gave him (my BO roo) and a few of my BO girls a coop to themselves and he is now crowing and mating regularly! I am so proud of my little (er..uh, big roo)
