I have done a search on here and may be missing it, but at what age can I start to feed my pullets fresh vegetables? Are there any that should be avoided that their systems may not be able to digest well until they are older. My girls are almost six weeks old.

Can anyone answer this question? I just found a site that said you should feed Chick Grower at 8 weeks, is that when it is safe to start giving fresh vegetables?

I'd say from experience that giving fresh veggies at 8 weeks is perfectly ok for chickens.

I couldn't tell you the exact age that you can start feeding, but 8 weeks should be old enough for them to get these kind of treats. I know mine got treats at 8 weeks old, and they have turned out just fine.

Hope that helps somewhat.

Mine live outside with a shelter cause where i am we have been having very nice weather in the 70's and sometimes 80's and they are 6 weeks of age. I was told it is fine cause they are pecking at the dirt so they will eat dirt and that will substitute for grit temporarily. Hope it helps!

My birds get veggies as soon as they show interest. Usually at first they aren't interested, but by a few weeks old they love their greens. I start offering them veggies around 2 weeks and just keep offering until they start to eat them.

That's pretty much what I did. My chickens are not yet laying (September due date), but they have been eating veggies pretty much since they got their feathers, they didn't show much interest before that.
