Age when first egg layer?

Hi I'm very new to this whole chicken thing. We have 19 chickens; 4 barred rocks. 2 light brahma 2 dark brahma 2 buff Orpington 2 silver laced Wyandotte 3 silkies... Oh and I guess more brahmas in there somewhere

. I'm wondering at what age do most chickens start laying eggs?

My white rocks were the first to lay at 21 weeks, my RSLs layed at 23 weeks, rhode island reds at 23 weeks, and my buff orpington didn't start till she was 26 weeks. Everyone else fell into that range, but I've got one barnyard mix (dominique x white rock) who started at 16 weeks.

18-24 weeks is the most common age range for onset of lay....some breeds can take longer.
