Hey guys! My oldest chicks are now 8 weeks old tomorrow, and I'm wondering if I can start feeding them veggies and such? I did buy grit for them today, so that's covered. Also, what fruits or veggies can't I feed them?

BTW, they are all laying pellets, to be, if that's a difference.

Thanks.

My chickens love bananas, but that's because I feed them a lot because I grow them. They also love watermelon and papaya.

Onions are their favorite veggie and healthy, but some say it imparts a bad taste to eggs.

You can feed them some, just keep the amounts moderate so they don't completely fill up on nothing but veggies. Do not be surprised if they don't seem willing to try it at first, chickens are pretty chicken!
Yes they are. I never realized how picky they are! It's worth a try though!!

What can't the eat though?

Our bananas don't stand a chance in this house! What may happen to 'spoil', goes to bread.
