hi, please can someone advise. my 8mnth old peacock who has been raised my mainly polish chickens has suddenly started being really aggressive with my hens, then my little rooster steps in to protect his ladies and is getting the stuffing knocked out of him. I gave chase to the peacock the other day but he just kept running back to claw my roo! cannot continue like this. he has a peahen and they are always together but they will have to go if he continues like this. even thinking of caponizing him.... HELP!

What is his problem??? Maybe he found out he was adopted. Is it possible to pen the peacocks or the hens - so they can't get to each other. I recall someone else saying their peacock was killing their hens because his girlfriend was off somewhere broody and he was ticked off.

I don't know what his bloody problem is! he displays to his misses and she just looks embarrassed for him and runs off! he then picks on the closest thing to him. but my roo is only little. chickens are penned during day when im at work but come out when I get back, think this is also a problem as peas have all the territory during the day but cannot pen them in as I cant get near them....

My peas are totally free ranged as are my chickens, what I have learned that once a chicken tries to attack a pea they are out for revenge, they will pursue the chicken until it goes and hides and it can last a few days here so if your pea is penned with your peas it may never end, I would remove him before he kills the roo.

They arnt penned in but it has got nasty. Dont want my roo upset but dont wantvto give up on my pea.... He only has one wife, do you think if he had more it would distract him? The wife he has is not interested him in the slightest....

I would put the peas in a pen where they can see but not get to the chickens gmfor a while, or at least the aggressive male. This may help him be a bit nicer. You may have to completely separate the different birds or even cull him from the flock.
