Hello everyone, as some of you may know I have a male Pekin duck who is durrently around 18 months old. He lives with a Muscovy companion who passed away a couple weeks ago for unkown causes and since we brought a new duckling in, he has been very aggresive with the duckling trying bite and even injure it. We had to remove the duckling and we avoid them coming in contact. He also bites although this is something he's been doing for a while so I consider it a personality trait. Howeveer sometimes his biting and aggresiveness even with humans can get scary. I was beggining to wonder if this has something to do this his diet. He's better now than a few days ago, however his diet consists mainly of the garden (grass, lelaves, bugs, etc) and of yellow corn based poultry feed. He hasn't gone out of the coop for around a week since we were fixing the garden so his entire diet has consisted of the yellow-corn poultry feed. He can go out now for periods of time ,however maybe we need to amplify his diet?

I doubt that diet is his problem. Drakes are very Testosterone driven, and his aggression may be misplaced sexual activity. Generally it subsides as the breeding season ends.

Thanks for the information. And is it breeding season for my Pekin right now? (We are in the Southern hemisphere)
