2 of my 8 week old roos were very aggressive towards me this morning. Is there a way to fix this or is this the way they are going to be from now on?

Don’t worry, when roosters are at this age, then they do become aggressive towards us. But they also have a reason. What they are actually doing is checking us out. They try to see who is the boss. Your roosters will become less aggressive when they get older, and they will get to know you more better.

Knowing there was a chance that one of my chicks could turn out to be a rooster I went ahead and researched how to train a rooster to not be aggressive. I found an article on thehappychickencoop.com “ how to train an aggressive rooster” informative as well as a You Tube video by SSLFamilydad where he shows you the signal that roosters naturally use to signify who’s the boss. It makes more sense to me to train them up how they should be than trying to break learned/ individual aggressive behavior. Like the age old philosophy: “ Train a child how he should go ( behave) and he will not stray far from it.” With this in mind I have decided that I will not acquire grown roosters but only deal with those I raise from chick hood. Let us know what methods you used and how they work out for you! I’m keenly interested to know. Good luck!
