9 month old Blue-Laced Barnevelder rooster suddenly acting aggressive. I picked the breed because the roosters were supposed to be really sweet. The roo, however, has been attacking anyone who enters the enclosure by jumping up and pecking hard. He's even flogging though his spurs are only stubs. He has only two hens so we're thinking that's the source of the aggression and he needs more. I hand raised him and he was handled daily the first couple of months and even though he was skittish, he was never aggressive.
The huging method isn't working and his aggression has only been escalating.
Has anyone ever had an aggressive Barnevelder rooster?
Also, would adding more hens solve the problem or would it not matter?
These are 4-H birds so they need to be handled daily.
