one of my Rhode island reds has been showing aggressive behavior towards me the last couple of days! she has been trying to peck at me in an aggressive way, mostly when I am opening there coop door after she gets out she will charge me or when I try and pick up my other one or pet my her she tries to do it? anyone know what this can be caused from, or what I can do? they are about 5 months old. Thank you..

Can you post pics? Reason I suspect its a rooster is I had some RIR I got from a feed store that were suppose to be all girls. Nope. One was a rooster. Little b-terd started coming at me at 2 months of age.
He would fly off the roost six feet away from me with his feet coming right at me. He bit me several times when Id pick him up to put in the coop. He got to be tge dogs dinner.

this one is the one that is being aggressive.

Looks like a hen. A rooster would have alot bigger wattle and comb by now. He would also be crowing or trying to crow by now. Maybe someone else can give you some insight as to why she is being a Bleep.
One other thought was if you dont have a rooster, that she is acting like one to protect the flock. Other than that, I cant be much help. My personal policy is, mean chickens get invited to dinner.
