Hi all I have 2 Pekin ducks that are both drakes and are 4 months old. One of them is becoming very aggressive towards me. Every time I try to pet him he launches at me and bites me where as the other one I can walk up to and pet him without hesitation. They don’t seem to have any problems with each other besides the occasional standoffs in the water but other wise they are great together. I have read numerous articles but still don’t know what I should do. Also when my family is wearing opened toed shoes he will run and follow them all the way around the yard to try to get their toes and I don’t know what that means. I sure don’t want him to be the main course at thanksgiving  all advice is welcome.
thank you!

Keep the nice one, rehome the nasty one, and get a few hens for your nice one.

i didn't want to start a whole new thread here, but I'd like to add to this one. I got three hatchlings from the feed store, and they ended up being two drakes and a duck. One of the drakes was my sweet curious baby boy, until he got to be about 4 months old. I started noticing the aggression towards my baby girl and shortly thereafter it was turned to me. I tried the whole holding him down for two minutes to set drake dominance, but then he just went back to aggression focusing on my girl.

will this behavior change? I have kept him separated from the other two and he is just not the same duck. I have since gotten two more baby girls (now 3 weeks old) and letting them grow in the house until they get old enough to be mixed with the nice drake. I'm having issues rehoming my aggressive one because I can't find anyone in my area that wants him. I'd hate for anything bad to happen to him, but if he hurts one of my girls I'm likely to hurt him myself. Just looking for advice.

If you can’t rehome him, you will have to give him separate living space from the others.
