I have one duck, we have had him since he was a baby & he (I'm guessing it's a male) has become aggressive at times & bites, like he leaves bruises on me when he bites. Is this because he is lonely, do I need another duck for him?

Welcome to BYC! If you have a male duck you will want to get him at least one female. Perhaps some of these people will have more suggestions for you.

Can you post some pics of your duck? Usually drakes once they get to breeding age will show signs of breeding to who ever they have a close relationship witch It was this way for my drake since he was raised inside after his mom rejected him. So possibility your seeing drake behavior but there have been a few members who have had females get bity with them too.

How old is your duck does he/she quack real loud or have a raspy voice like he has a cold?

We got him in last Spring, he was little & yellow, now he is full grown & solid white with a yellow/orange beek. I will post a picture.
A local photographer had them as babies for Easter pics & they all were killed but the one we have, Lucky the duck. My son found out about the duck in his AG class & wanted us to take him so they built him a coop & we have had him ever since.

He may think your his mate and he is trying to mate you.You should get a female for him as Ducks like a partner .
This is my first duck so I'm just learning. If I get him a female won't there be baby ducks? I don't want anymore ducks.

Collect the eggs every day and they won't be able to hatch ducklings, easy to deal with... :)

No, not necessarily. She will only hatch eggs if she goes broody which can be stopped by putting her in a dog kennel.Ducks usually dont go broody.

Ah, I beg to differ... ducks can and do go broody just as much, if not more than chickens... and putting them in a kennel/crate actually encourages them to sit, lol...
