Aggressive Hen?

Barred Plymouth Rock. She is nothing like my other Rocks in personality. They are rather sweet, gentle girls but Soda reminds me of a youngest child: bit of an attention seeker, boisterous, demanding. She was the last layer [& my youngest hen] & seems a little over anxious to prove herself to man & hen.

Actually, she is just being protective by driving other hens away from the nest. She is not being broody, Rhode Island Reds rarely go broody and she is exceedingly young. Not to mention, a broody hen wouldn't lay any eggs.

I’ve never seen her do this before but, she puffed up and literally push my barred rock away from her. I think it might be broodiness or there might be something wrong. If you know what’s going on, please help.
Nothing wrong, she just doesn't want to share the nest while she laying. Most my birds do this, some more than others.
Put a fake egg in all the nests to help 'spread the love'.
