Wow, your EE sounds a bit like ours!!!
Our EE is in the pen (coop/run) combo with our girls and I can't free range, so we have to deal with him coming at the fence sides. When he comes at the fence, he hits them pretty hard. This happens as soon as he sees one of us approaching the run or when we are leaving the area. When one of us goes into the run we have to carry this toy field hockey stick, there is a small net at the end. Well he is affraid of this and he will run off under the coop. He will usually stay there the whole time that either of us is in the run, but as soon as we go out of the run and lock the door, he will run out from under the coop, run at the door and hit it as hard as he can and then crow like he WON the game.
He is nearly 6 months old and well, he may not make it to that 6 month mile stone. This weekend he will probably end up in our freezer! Not what I want to do, I would like to get some fertized eggs for the spring from our girls, but he won't be doing the deed. Maybe the other EE we have who is suppose to be a pullet, but looks more like a roo, will be a roo and be better??? I don't know. We hatched all of our chickens, so we only had 10 and five of those were roos, maybe 6 if Xanderina is actually Xander.
mine stalks the door, pacing back and forth, the moment i go in he goes after me. so its hubby's turn and that'll determine if he stays or not. im a animal lover i cant hurt one. i cry when i run over a frog and stop for birds and squirrels, but i cant have an evil roo around either
