You have to hold him good and hard, away from your face and just behind his head. I did the same thing to my boy. I held him down till he quit struggling then let him go. He stayed there and did not move one muscle. When I told him he could get up, then he did. Later he didn't move out of my way when I walked by him so I just walked right through him and bowled him over. Now he MOVES and he is a perfect gentleman around me. I even gave him a bath yesterday to clean his bottom (really fluffy breed) and he didn't like it but he didn't make the fuss you'd think. Maybe mine just wasn't as aggressive as yours but it didn't seem that difficult to me to do. Then again, I am in not afraid of him or any chicken. Respect (to a point), yes. Afraid, no.

I want to add too that once they were all 4 weeks old or so, I quit handling them. None wanted touching and that's fine with me. I give them the same respect I give any animal. I'd never dream of forcing myself on a dog or cat that didn't want hugging either. But you should see them all come running when I open the back door!

If I had one I just could not handle, I'd cook it or give it to someone who would. Aggression to humans is often genetic. They need out of the gene pool if they can't be handled.

He is nearly 6 months old and well, he may not make it to that 6 month mile stone. This weekend he will probably end up in our freezer! Not what I want to do, I would like to get some fertized eggs for the spring from our girls, but he won't be doing the deed. Maybe the other EE we have who is suppose to be a pullet, but looks more like a roo, will be a roo and be better??? I don't know. We hatched all of our chickens, so we only had 10 and five of those were roos, maybe 6 if Xanderina is actually Xander.

mine stalks the door, pacing back and forth, the moment i go in he goes after me. so its hubby's turn and that'll determine if he stays or not. im a animal lover i cant hurt one. i cry when i run over a frog and stop for birds and squirrels, but i cant have an evil roo around either
