aggressive roo

my silkie roo has all of a sudden become very aggressive and tries to attack me when I pick up any of the hens to hold. I've always done this, but his behavior is new. What's up?

my aggressive roo is about 1 1/2. He won't let me pick the girls up anymore without attacking me. They're all silkies
