Aggressive Rooster, re-home him…?

The wing drop dance is typically part of their mating ritual, although I’ve seen the boys do it to each other to control where the others are going.

The male to female ratio is definitely too low here. Coupled with the other behaviors, I would be putting that roo in a pot and not getting another unless you get more girls first.

The human aggression, everyone has different tolerances for it. I carry a rake because most roos do have some level of aggression toward people. The ones that are fearless need to be dealt with (and the rake gets me through to slaughter age, and the kids aren’t allowed in there). The super docile ones aren’t good flock protectors, though, so it’s a balance and a good roo can be hard to find. I don’t think we can train them out of that behavior and rehoming is just passing the trouble to someone else.
