Hello I have an almost 7 month old silkie pullet that’s been attacking my feet and hands whenever I go let the birds out. She bites hard. She will also charge me.

Not sure if this is related to puberty, but she’s been doing this for the past 2 months. I purchased her at 12 wks and always socialized her. None of the other birds are showing this behavior.
Please advise!

Sounds like she's got the Mean Gene(Genetic Human Aggression). Is this a recent picture, or old picture of the bird?

That's a pretty mottled chick. Are you sure that's a pullet and not a cockerel? Do you have a more recent picture?

Pullets never bite me, but hens have if I'm lifting them out of a nest to check for eggs. In the yard, never.

I'm guessing yours did a sex change though to a boy.

That’s the 12 wk picture. I’ve attached recent.

I paid extra for a pullet. She’s hasn’t crowed or displayed any mounting behavior and has been checking out the nest boxes lately.

This bird was also the last added to the flock and is the youngest by 2 months. Not sure if the constant bullying when first introduced has something to do with this.

I lean that's going cockerel. It could be genes, but wow, never saw wattles like that on a silkie pullet, and looks like hackles coming in, but then again, it's got the round puffy vault, not messy like a cockerel.

It's just guessing here, so I'd give it another couple of weeks, and it should be definitive.
