If you actually have a cockerel in with hens, they are going to put the run on him. It's good for him. It just doesn't look that way. As long as he is not being injured badly (a little blood isn't a big deal) let them work things out. He has lessons to learn and they will teach him.

we gave a 4 month old male to the neighbor, to add to his flock of eight pullets. The pullets were about 6 months old. That male was run around by those girls for a good 2 months! he matured during this time and finally took head/lead spot, but lost many feathers along the way. They chased him all the time for the first few weeks. He ate enough, but had to sneak out to the feed tray after they were done and not near it. when a comb is nipped, it bleeds a lot, but if that is the only injury (and likely it is) don’t worry. Thecomb stops bleeding pretty quick.
