Hey there!
I have a 6 year old, healthy Indian runner when. She used to have a mate but unfortunately he got snatched by a fox 4 years ago. She now lives with my chickens and they actually have gotten along quite well until recently.
She is acting very aggressive to one hen in particular, my 6 year old Easter egger, who she was raised with. Only her, no one else. She bites her feathers, pulls them and once even attempted to mount her. The hen doesn't do anything to fight back nor antagonize the duck.
The duck also has a curled tail feather, similar to a drake (it's definitely a hen, she lays eggs). I know some chicken hen's can act like roosters (somewhat crow, have spurs, ect..) could this be what's happening with my girl, or just coincidence?
Is there anything I can do to stop it/any idea what may be causing this?

Hi, there! :frow

This is a perfect example of why it's not a good idea to house one duck with another species that do not share the same language nor behaviors, I believe all these hormonal changes may be due to the absence of a male in her life as well as no ducks in general, perhaps not, but there is the chance, almost like if you were being housed monkeys, no doubt there would be some psychological changes after a while.

I think your best bet would be to separate her from the hens and add another duck to her life.
