Agressive Rooster. HELP!!

My 2 OEGB roos tried this mess until I started using them as a football

I have a 3 year old and they'd stalk her and try to attack her, take her toys, hide behind something and then run at her, etc....A few discussions with the end of my shoe and they're over that crap. Animal cruelty my butt!

It's better than becoming dog food!

I hang mine upside down by their feet until they stop flapping and set them down and wait for them to walk away by you walking away first your showing him he is still boss. If this doesn't work they get a dunking in a bucket a water too. (I do not hold them under just a quick dunk!)

I have a 5 mo old Bo roo who got a little agressive when he started free ranging. I tried the recommended push him, spook him, carry him ideas and he was getting worse. I stopped retaliating and he stopped attacking. I think he was scared. He's still rowdy with my 17 yr old son, though. My son rarely interacts with the chickens and I think Dubloon is afraid of him.

If all he is doing is pecking your shoe and not flogging or trying to spur you, he may just be looking for attention.

I have a big BO roo that will run up to me with his hackle feathers up, then run into a corner of the run and stand and wait for me to pick him up.

This happens daily, and he never tries to attack.

I currently have 5 roosters that are about 3 1/2 months old. Our favorite, Ginger, aka Roosty is the dominant one and the only one that crows although his is not the largest. He was super friendly and liked to be held up until a month ago, now he keeps his distance. Three times now he has pecked the back of my heel as I was either walking by him or walking away from him and the last time he actually drew blood. I have been trying to correct this by holding him tightly and walking around with him. I don't do it meanly, but pet him and talk to him until he calms down. If he fights, I hold him tighter. I certainly hope that it stops and heaven forbid it escalates or he will be a goner since I have 4 and 6 year old children that are always around the chickens.

I plan on getting rid of the other 4, but if he doesn't turn out I will be without a rooster. I'm tempted to keep one of the others instead but will they then turn once they are the head hauncho?
