Mr Dancy Pants is definitely the cockerel with the frostbitten toes. But he's healing well, and feeling well enough to dance at us again.
Last night when I went out to collect eggs I found half the flock locked outside of the coop. I guess it was so nice out no one wanted to go to bed! At least the fence was charged.
I haven't separated my birds into breeding pens (or built the pens) yet, but we did hatch 27 adorable littles on valentines day!
Since it was so nice yesterday I took them out for their first outdoor excursion.
Got a space set up in the run in town so I can move the littles outside, at least during the day.
My mystery chicks definitely appear to be feathering in silver. Since buckeyes can't carry silver, and some of them have a few feathers on their legs, I suspect they must be malines crosses somehow. Unless they're not silver, but those breast feathers look white to me.
