We were candling eggs and one has the air bubble on the side. How does this happen and does it happen often?

Sometimes that happens. are the eggs laying on their sides and you are turning them or are they in an auto turner? It can be a sign of just bad egg

Are they shipped eggs? This can happen from eggs getting jostled around. Almost every shipped egg I've received had their air cells ruptured or on the sides of the egg. I usually stand them upright for half of their incubation, then lay them down. Most of them hatch. As long as the air cell gets large enough and they internally pip inside of it. I've had some gnarly looking air cells and they hatched perfectly. I always give them a chance.

thanks
