air plugs

I am on my 12th day of incubation, chicken eggs. When should I remove one or both of the plugs. Please help.

I leave one out the entire incubation, and take the other out at lockdown (day 18)

Thanks, I took one out, I hope it's not to late. I always leave them in and never have good results when it's hatching time.
