Just hatched out 26 chicks in incubator but one chick couldn't un-zip because other chicks somehow got that egg pushed into another shell that was just laying there making half of the un-zipping process double layered. After 3 hours of no success I investigated to find the double shell issue and gave assist. The chick had already defecated in shell and yoke sack was all absorbed but the sack is stuck to the chicks back and hard like a turtle shell. The chick is happy and doing all chick things but I'm scared other chicks (already moved to brooder) will bully this oddity so how do I soften the sack and remove it before transferring to brooder.
I just realized how much useless info I typed and the last sentence would have netted me correct answer lol. Thank you for your responses.

Don't use olive oil the sack won't absorb it and you'll just end up with a slimy little creature that looks like it used too much hair gel!
I ended up just doing the common sense thing and setting up a heat lamp at my desk and getting it to stay @100(why is there no degree symbol on keyboards?). Since I was gonna be getting him wet I chose incubator temp. Q-tip repeatedly dunked in warm water and alot of time it began to soften and let loose . I'm giving him a break then I have to proceed with warm water and soap to get the olive oil off! He looks like the kid in school who always had his hair slicked down to his skull it's adorable. I would leave him like that but then his temperature regulation would be sacrificed so I gotta clean him up.
Well anyway glad that's done and I really have to thank myself for such good help in the resolve of this matter!
