Can you take helium balloons through airport security? I wouldn't be taking them on a plane.

are you yourself going to be getting on the plane and dtiching the balloons before you get on?

if you are welcoming someone at the airport you will not be granted access beyond the security gates..
if you yourself are boarding the plane why do you need balloons ?..LOL
when I went to cuba in January 2010 we were not allowed a lot of things.. they took dh's nail clippers off the key ring, and my PLASTIC tweezers form my coat pocket (i left them there one day after work)
I was randomly selected for a FULL BODY search.. (great pick the fat chick) ..lol
really if you dont need them done bring them...
we were traveling early early in the morning 3am... I brought the glow in the dark bracelts for my DD so i could see her in the dark plane if we got separated.. and they took them from her.

I'm welcoming my husband home from a 6 month deployment. So yes, I will be allowed to cross security.
Maybe I'll call the airport and ask. It's ridiculous what they take away from you now a days. Did you hear about the child that had her playdoh confiscated? A big ten pack the child had received for Christmas. If nothing else, I can have the balloons in the car I suppose.

when we arrived back from vacation there were military families waiting for their loved ones outside the security clearance areas... now with that said this is in canada and not the USA.. (we tend to over react here)
the solders were arriving from new brusnwick (i think) and because there were only a handful coming to ontario they (the military) flew them on civilian aircraft to toronto.. so it could have been the fact that they were arriving from another canadian port on a civilian aircraft and not via military transport
o yeah they took my DD's back pack (just a tiny one about the size of a bag of sugar) and held it in a "secure" area during the flight and it was waiting for her when we got off the plane. like geeze what was a 7 yr old going to do? sketch the security areas and sell them on e-bay.. in the bag was a 10 pack of crayons and a colouring book but this was right after the christmas scare in Michigan.. and NO carry ons were permitted except womens purses and diaper bags if you were traveling with children

we were allowed to escort dh to the gate when he left, so I assume we'll be able to greet him at the gate for his return. It's a really small airport as well.
That is terrible about your dd's bag. She probably would have enjoyed coloring during the flight. I'm telling you, they are going to restrict flying so much people aren't going to do it anymore.

I'm really upset about the full body scanners. That is such an invasion of privacy-a virtual strip search. I understand why they have them, but...
