Hello, I've been a member for some time, but haven't really introduced myself, just been using the articles here.
I've been raising chickens in a run outside my house for 7 years now, along side my mom (no, I am an adult, not a child). My preferred breed is D'anvers, I have two and a single Cochin. Unfortunately we lost two birds in 2019 and are planning on hitting up some fowl shows in the spring for a pair of D'anvers.
My flock leader bird is Odin, a older D'anver with vilitigo, she's so cute puffing up with a white crown on her head. My idiot bird is Raven(also called Friendly Bird), the fattest bird in the flock but also the shortest(I think she is twice as heavy as Odin). Chibi is the Cochin, who hates being held but is easy to catch.

:frowHowdy!
After hearing about your birds I have an intense desire to see their pictures!!!
Glad you decided to do an official "Introduction".

This is my Cochin, Chibi(brown) and her recently pasted sister Fluffles(white). I purchased them as chicks from tractor supply, but Chibi was sick at the time, I thankfully nursed her back to health but she lost some growth and was smaller then Fluffles for a long time.

Raven the most complaining bird that gets lost just a few yards away from the rest of the flock. I purchased her from a breeder that had malourished and parasite ridden birds. Years later and she still doesn't know what to do outside her cage. She LOVES food, and will do anything for food.

Odin Bird, the "king" of our flock, she stopped laying last year but still rules the roost. She keep an eye out for hawks and other predators, and is probably 5-6 years old now. I bought her from a breeder at Golden Coast poultry show, she's quite the good looking bird.

So Odin Bird is the Great Matriarch!!! She's enjoying her golden years in egg production retirement? Wonder if she'll start laying again in the spring. One of my "Old Birds" only laid a couple of months this summer, not every day either. She just started laying again, a couple eggs a week, she makes a HUGE deal out of it when she does too!!! Cackles for hours. She's good with all the orphan chicks so I don't care if she lays or not, don't tell her I said that though.
