ALABAMA!!

I always just stick eggs under them.. Easiest way.

Apparently you can break them by putting them in a wire floor cage, without nest/nesting materials. https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/181289/how-to-break-a-broody-hen

I was going to stick some hatching eggs under them but couldn't get hold of any so have go with plan B.

One of my Chantie hens went broody and she has a weird way of doing things. She spends most of the day on the nest, but she comes out for about 30 mins in the afternoon and lays an egg then goes back to brooding until the same time the next day. Never had a hen do that before.

I got my other Chantie pair integrated with my layer flock. I needed the tractor they were in for my FBCM chicks that had to be moved to make room for my other chicks to get moved out of the brooder. The roo was pretty happy having 7 extra hens all to himself. The cage I made to integrate them was moved out today and tomorrow it's getting attached to one of the Buckeye pens.

The brooder chicks are getting pretty rowdy. One of my BO pullets had her wing picked bloody. She got a cage all to herself and doctored up, but since it's been cool here I moved another BO pullet in with her.

Something is up with those shipped chicks. At the start I had 3 BO pullets, but now another chick has turned that same gold color. I had one Golden Comet pullet, now another chick if feathering out with the same colors. I still don't know what the blue chick is. I think I might have a GLW, but I don't know for sure. This is the most confusing batch of chicks ever.

Figured out somewhat of a timeline on the muscovy.

On March 25th I had let them keep their eggs for 6 days already, but they were not sitting yet. I remember saying I was going to take them away on day 10, but that Saturday they started sitting.. march 28th. So this Saturday we're at 35 days of sitting, but some of the eggs were older than that. 'Any day now' would be the correct answer

Orps, When are you coming back up here to the Florence area again? I can meet you at the same place as last time if you want some eggs to put under those broodies. My Silkies have been laying up a storm and I have a bunch i'm not doing anything with. I got 3 Broody Silkies in 1 big nest setting on a pile of chicken & duck eggs and 1 Turkey and 1 Guinea egg that I want them to hatch for me. I've got some 2nd generation Dominicker/Silkie eggs, 2nd gen Phoenix/Silkie eggs and more of the same Pure Silkie eggs from those Silkies I gave you last time. Just let me know and I'll meet up with you again.

Bamadude,
I saw a couple days ago you have some Ghost Pepper seeds you may be willing to share via 1 stamp in the mail. I would be interested in about 25-30 of those seeds if you'd share them and I could send you a buck or something back via 1 stamp in the mail.
