ALABAMA!!

Sounds great...Let me know if I can help burn his face off. It would only cost me a stamp.

Out of room now and getting too late in the season.

I'm going to have to step up my pepper growing for this man

Just candled three muscovy eggs, they're developing.. but I have no idea how far along they are. Air pocket seems large and there's a big dark spot what I imagine to be an eye, surrounding by lighter dark blobness and some veins

I'm a cruel mama, poor muscovy was angry as could be at me.. but I have a broody chicken and needed something. Figured she can finish hatching 3 muscovy and be happy with that.

Momma chicken happily rolled those babies under her, as I placed them in the shavings for her. Muscovy mama will get over it, she's in the dogloo with another mama and they have atleast 20 eggs between the two. Mama 3 is sitting on 22 eggs by herself

Wow how nice to have that many broody's at one time! You are blessed!

I have planted, squash (for the hubby, I don't eeat it) okra, tomatoes, corn, beans, peppers, hot and bell, cucumber. And then I made a small watermelon patch. It's all small scale. I am practicing. And a few heads of cabbage, again I don't eat that stuff either.

Sounds good. What type of corn, beans, and watermelons did u plant?

Muscovy are amazing. They get broody once they have enough eggs. All I did was let them keep their eggs, once they were happy with the amount laid, they started sitting.

Apparently you can use them to hatch chicken eggs too :)

I watched a youtube video of a broody silkie hen that hatched turkey eggs. The poults were huge compared to her. I wish I could copy paste links

Quote: Since I have been on BYC I have read that tons of people use any kind of broody to hatch any kind of egg they want to hatch. I had a chicken hatch turkey for me and she was a great mom. I have read that some hens hatched chicken, duck and keets all at the same time the momma don't care they just want babies. :)

How do you get a hen out of broodiness? Need to get 3 out of that state. Been kicking them out of the nest but the just go right back in.
