ALABAMA!!

Hello everyone!! I am from Piedmont, Alabama. It's a tiny little place about halfway between Birmingham and Atlanta. I am so happy seeing that there are people on here that are not that far away.

Hello we are new to the site. And new to chickens we have been going at it for a little over a year now, we definetly had some bumps but seem to be doing much better at getting the hang of it. We at interested in adding to our little group of 4 hens and 1 rooster, actually I believe we have our 1st hen sitting and we cant wait to see what follows! We are North Alabama near Scottsboro.
Hello and Welcome! I am about halfway between Birmingham and Atlanta in a tiny little place called Piedmont, Alabama. I am really new to raising chickens on my own also. I grew up helping my Dad raise quail, so it's a little different but similar. At the moment I have 5 Plymouth Barred Rock pullets and 10 Black Marans pullets that are in a brooder. I have 19 English Gamecocks eggs in the incubator and 2 hens sitting on 18 more eggs that they laid. I have another hen laying and getting ready to start setting her eggs, she is a game hen also. I am about to be overrun with chicks and I love it. I also have some California White roos and a hen and a California Grey hen. I look forward to some beautiful dark brown eggs from my Marans and nice eggs from the others when they are ready.

Anybody here live in Alabama?

So exciting to have so many new members joining us!

My newest chicks are about 6.5 weeks old already. I need to get some new pictures; maybe this weekend. They've been outside for a couple of weeks and will be joining the adults in the coop very soon. This has been the easiest integration process ever, probably because I have stringently culled for temperament over the last couple of years. My girls are very laid back. :)

Congrats on your easy integration! I can't wait to see some pictures.

Nice Gal! When I can move my flock over to my farm and have a rooster, I will do the same. No slackers and no bad temper for me.

Or in this case chickens.... :)

I'll get better pictures in the next week or so, but here are my little ones on their first "sleepover" with the adults. The RIR is pecking/chasing a little, but nothing too terrible. The SS takes an occasional peck at the babies if they invade her space. My darling little Faverolles is happy to have more friends; she is already sharing the feeder with them and even sometimes putting her body between the RIR and the babies. She's such a sweet bird!

So just a long shot as I haven't frequented in this thread in awhile. We are in Clay County, and have been searching pretty hard to find someone with Khaki Campbell ducklings. We've put ads in the paper and online too with no results for about a month. Does anyone here raise Khakis?
