Shew wee; cleaned out the chicken house today and put up another light over the roost. Now I'm tired and don't want to cook supper. Oh well chicken fajitas tonight, that will be simple. So tell me if I messed up, I put cedar chips on the floor afterwards, it sure smelled better, but it may be hard to scoop up next time i clean it out? Hope all had a good day, I did, nothing like a hard days work to make you rest better at night, and my chickens will also. Talk at you later.

Cedar is bad for chicks I'm pretty sure its bad for older ones also. I think they cant breathe from it.

Hey Alabama , hope everyone is ok. I was going to come down for the winter but would have had to give up the chickens and I couldn't do that. Plus the Church is here. Gotta be where God want's me. Even if I don't like the weather. Though I must confess it's going to 50* today and we've had barely any snow. Last year over 14', This year I don't think 3. So far.

Called DS in Millbrook to see if they were ok and he says he didn't even know there was a problem. I don't think that boy will ever grow up.

. In truth he just had surgery but he's fine.

In either case I'm watching you folks down there and hope the Good Lord keeps everyone safe.

Thanks Rancher for thinking of us. All is well with me & mine but the worst of the damage was only a few miles from me. So heartbreaking. Even more so in the light of the tornados last April 27. Our county has filed bankruptcy and laid off many of the very people that are so needed in times like these.

Please keep us in your prayers. There is still search and rescue going on. 2 confirmed dead and hundreds wounded.

And we are expecting more severe weather later in the week.

I got a call from DW that the apartment complex near DS and his got the roofs torn off and there is no power. Lord have mercy. Hunt - dont' you worry AL is always in my prayers. Heaven knows I'd be there if I could. Even if DS and his didn't live there, I still would move there if I could. Something about AL that just makes me love the place.

Matt, in the area I'm in its faithway brand, some people call it pride. Its the worst chick starter out there. Its about 50% powder. I wish I knew of a place to get good feed thats not 15.00 a bag.
