ALABAMA!!

I ordered my ameraucanas from Ideal Poultry in Cameron, Texas. I ordered them in March but didn't get them til May 5th. They are a popular breed so it took a while to get to my hatch date. It is my understanding that they really are ameraucanas. They have the tufts anyway. It's exciting watching them grow and eventually collecting those colored eggs. I did lose one I had purchased at a local feed and seed store but the others are progressing nicely. I love Ideal Poultry, they are fantastic.

Anyone have any interest in blue swedish,Khaki campbell or mallard ducklings? A lady in town has them for $4.50 each 5 days old.
She also had other ducks that were $3 Not sure what they were or if they were mixed. The first 3 are pure and in diff brooders. The others were all together that is why I think they MIGHT be mixed.

You need to post this in emergencies or even in raising baby chicks section, Sweetie. But could be your chick is just a bit stressed from shipping. I'm still relatively new to this so a more expert opinion is needed. Try those other two forums and see what they have to say. OK?

Hungryhensfarm,
If you got them from a hatchery they are EE's.
I got some from them also they are very nice birds.
You can find a ton of posts and threads about Auracaunas, Ameracaunas and EE's on here and anywhere else. ( I can't spell these)
It would be great if the hatcherys would just list them as 3 different breeds since they are different, then maybe we could all avoid the confusion on all of this.
I am no expert and I can't tell the difference between the Ameracaunas and the EE's but the true ones are certain colors and have certain color legs and lay a certain color egg. If you really want to know what you got you can post pics and someone will come along and let you know.

I have taken pics but can't find my USB cable for my camera. I need to get a new I guess. I'm thinking about putting the pics on a cd and see if I can upload them from it. Any advice on that?

One of mine did the same thing. She stayed off by herself and slept a lot for the first two or three days. When I picked her up she would fall asleep right in my hand.

Hopefully, you've taken Crickett's advice and posted it on the other two forum topics. I'm sure you'll have plenty of help from them.

Hope your chick is okay.

Thanks for all of the help. The chick is doing fine now. Just needed a little TLC. I think you guys were right though. I believe it was stress from shipping. They are beautiful chicks. I am going to try and post some pictures when I can. Oh yes, I will post it on the emergencies site next time! Thanks for the info. Have a wonderful day and GOD BLESS OUR SOLDIERS!
