ALABAMA!!

It's official now. I have too many chickens, and I need to sell some. I've got everything here from fertile eggs to laying hens and adult roosters.

Most of the chickens for sale are plain old yardbirds, from mixed (housed together) large-breed stock: buff orps, Rhode Island Reds, barred rocks, etc. There are a few of specific breeds, but most are mixes hatched from eggs I've purchased locally (and some from my own flock).

I do have a batch of 8 or 9 copper black Marans that are about 7 weeks old that I'd sell as a group.

PM for info or pictures of anything --- we have somewhere around 150 -160 chickens (and more hens setting eggs).

Edit to add: Oh yeah, I'm near Decatur / Athens / Huntsville

Andy, I may know someone but he may be out of them. I will check and let you know. He is in the Killen area.

Andy,
Send a PM to PearlD and see if she still has some or some available. I got my turkey poults from her last year and she had a ton of them then. She lives just 3 miles down the road from me here in Florence too.

Hey Folks,

We are north of Huntsville/Madison. Anybody else near here?

We have owned chickens since 2006 and love this site. We currently have a very broody SilkiexCochin that we got from JimnJay along with a very sweet porcelain d'Uccle (also from JimnJay). The broody hatched out some really unique mixes from donated eggs, looks to be part Dominicker. They are 7 weeks old - one is def. a cockeral but is so sweet and the other has us guessing.... a little flakey.

Then we have 15 4-week olds from McMurray. 4 Ameraucanas, 3 Silver Penciled Rocks, 4 Porcelain d'Uccles and 4 Mille Fleur d'Uccles. All bantams. I think our luck sucks because out of the 15 so far 11 of the 15 are going to be roos. So we are looking to rehome 12 roos over the coming weeks maybe more. Does anyone have worse luck than that? It could make me feel better.

Hi Sungirlb,

We are north of Madison, very near Kohls and Home Depot. We love to see other folks nearby.

What kinds are your 15 chickens, are they mixed breeds?

We have one silkie/cochin mix... she is the grandma of the bunch at probably 4-6 years old. One porcelain d'Uccle hen who is also about 4-6 years old. Then we have the chicks that the silkie/cochin hatched about 7-8 weeks ago. They were from donated mixed breed eggs. But I think they may be dominique/leghorn crosses. One boy, one girl. Then we have our bunch of wild boys who are 5 weeks old and out of 15 baby chicks we think we have 11 roosters. YIKES! They will all be rehomed just as soon as I find 11 other people who want roosters. LOL.
