Hey! Thanks for the welcome!

Tam, I'm actually on Straight Mountain between Ashville and Oneonta.

We just have four chickens at the moment. We have a white Silkie, two pullets I guess they are called that I think are Nanking mixed with something else and another young female bantam of some sort. Sorry, I'm so new to this I don't know what to call everything!

Our Silkie laid an egg today. We just got them Sunday evening and she was out and about with the roos at the place she came from so I'm hoping maybe it's fertile. Someone on one of the other forums told me they can be fertile for two weeks after mating, assuming she mated of course. So it looks like I'm waiting to see if she lays anymore and if she hatches anything. The pullets are in with the silkie, do I need to move them out? And is there anything else special that I should do? Thanks for any advice y'all can give!

All the others are doing well. I had 3 too many black giant roos so I gave those 3 away to my brother-in-law. He was thrilled to have them. I chased the other roo and one the hens all over the yard yesterday because they escaped from their coop. All in all things are going great. How bout you guys?
