ALABAMA!!

Blu caught one of the cats trying to get itself a Quail dinner out of the brooder.

Both inside cats were flanking the brooder when he came in the house. My babies are ok and the brooder looks like a junk pile now with all the stuff on top of it to keep the cats out.

Would love to have some but I'm not heading up there anytime and I think by the time I do, the eggs I got from you would have hatched(hopefully) and my incubator(aka orps) will be out of commission. However, may take your offer the next time my orps goes broody again.

Many of mine were rescue/donations in the beginning. . .
Since then, mostly EE's, can't help it, love the color mixes of feathers and eggs.

Main Flock: (12. . . . 2 Roo's and 10 hens)
1 Wheaten AM Roo, with 5 hens, Columbian and also blue wyandott, 3 EE's
1 Gold sex link/barred rock/EE Roo with 5 hens, Rhode Island Red, 4 mixed ladies (did I say EE's)?? heehee

First incubated chicks at Easter (12) now 8+ weeks
and also another 13 chicks split between 2 broody Mom hatches, now 6+ weeks.

12 + 12 + 13 = 37

Welcome. I don't get to post as often as I'd like but I'll chip in every once in a while. Your 93 birds dwarfs my 29 or so. I'm kinda wondering how many will be hens and how many will be roosters because they're all still too young to really tell. My latest addition is a pedestal fan I put in my coop yesterday. I'll put a roost in this week and then start work on the nest boxes. You'll enjoy this site. These folks have a lot of tips and experience to share.
