Any chicks yet?One chick is peeping up a storm and has a small hole in their egg (I can see a little beak peeping away).
I found another one that I am afraid may have died in it's shell. Don't hear anything, no movement... but I am leaving the egg be, you never know. I had moved the eggs from the nest into my 'incubator' in the exact same position, but the mom had knocked some eggs around. I thought about that last night and checked the eggs for pips and found this one with the shell missing over about a dime sized area, with the membrane still there with a little cut in it. I hope the little one didn't inadvertently choke or something, with the egg being upside down.
No progress on the first egg that pipped yesterday, but that's ok, it's really a bit too early. So I have 3 eggs that are fully developed for sure (3 pips), with noise and movement in one for sure. If I only get one chick out of this, I will be happyMore would be great, ofcourse.![]()

Yes we do! The first egg that had a little crack yesterday decided to pip and zip in like 15 minutes time. Loud little thing![]()
I've got another that's been pipped since last night and this cute little beak keeps popping out and peeping.
I'm pretty sure the other egg that pipped upside down (with the dime sized pip) is dead. Sad. Such a large area open and then died >_< Still not removing the egg though, you never know. But there's zero movement or sound, and I see the beak and it's not breathing.
Got a fourth egg without pips, but it's squeeky!
And two eggs that I am not sure if they're even developed because I just CAN'T candle. I can't see anything, just darkness... no air pocket, not clear, just dark. We'll see. Giving it time.
He/she is dark grey/black with little white/grey streaks. It looks like it has a little beard, but I never saw a newly hatched chick like this.. so it may be normal chickie anatomyGorgeous little thing.![]()

I'm expecting to end up with 3, out of 6 eggs, which is not bad at all, really. Any more will be bonus![]()
