So..... Went to Collinsville flea city today. Really hoping to find a turkey hen, a brown leghorn hen or a bantam cochin hen. Came home with empty cages.

I have six white rocks from TSC and three ducklings. One of the ducklings has a crest that looks like an afro! The other two are smooth feathered. So cute!

we're so excited. Now the race is on to get the runs built if I can figure out how to build 2 of them for under $250. I posted a question about our road block with the runs if you guys wouldn't mind checking out & seeing if you could help! Would really appreciate it!!

Quite a few people told me to go there to find a turkey hen. It's too far not knowing if there would be any. I'm glad I didn't.

2 hours for me. But it is always fun. Found lots of other stuff, just not the birds I was hoping for.

If you find anyone with turkey hens, let me know. I have been looking for awhile. I will let you know if I find anyone. I only need one for my Tom. If anyone knows of anyone within 2 hours of Tuscaloosa and reasonably priced ($35 range), I will give you Easter Egger hatching eggs as a finders fee.

have you tried flea markets? Try Ripley, Mountain top, or Lacon. They usually have birds /animals. You could also try livestock sales.

Tractor Supply here had them this week. But you asked for a reputable raiser, TSC is just a middle man of cheap hatchery birds

I took the babies outside today. Made a little temporary pen and let them have some sun. For a little while I had one of my white rocks in there with them... she was glad to have some weeds and grass to nibble at (they haven't free ranged in months, I don't want them eating my garden!). The little ones tried pecking her face and she corrected that real quick

She's a good 'teaching' chicken.

Can't wait to see what they're carrying at TSC tomorrow. I want just a few more.

I'm starting to think I wont get my order of chicks from the breeder I spoke to weeks ago.. or much, much too late (I would have to cancel, I told her this when I ordered them). I don't want chicks in the house when I'm in the hospital having a baby. Maybe next year.. or maybe I will find an adult bird I like on here or Facebook.
