Question for anyone who can answer I just had a chick hatch about 3 min ago but it has a green goo attached to it and the egg and it is not released from the egg do to this what can I do

It sound like the yoke haven't been completely absorb by the chick. Not sure what you can do about it.

Mine had the same thing and when it started walking around it finally broke loose think it was what was left of the yolk....

Leave it be. If it's yolk the chick will absorb it. DO NOT PULL IT! Your chick will probably be ok. It's best to leave it alone.

Put them in a teacup or something that will keep them from moving around. It'll absorb the rest of the yolk.

How old does a chicken need to be before you can tell if its a rooster or a hen? And how can you tell? I have one that acts nothing like the others not flighty at all jumps onto my hand and lets me feed it while the others fuss over the feed that hits the ground. Im guessing they're about three weeks old I got them from tractor supply were all supposed to be pullets. Either White Leghorns or something else not sure they just got all their feathers in they are all white.
