I would like to see that internal flap mechanism. I've been trying to figure out a way to stop the flow on mine, if needed, and so far, nada! My feeder will hold 300lbs, but like you said, I only fill it with one 50lb sack at a time. I made mine out of an old automatic deer feeder (the motor had burn up.)

Do you have any side openings on ur feeder , heres a walkthrough on my flap , i installed a piece of wood the same dimensions of the internal part of the box and fastened it to the inside of the box with a low profile hinge , i then put an eye hook on the other side of the flap i fastened a piece of metal rope on the eye hook and ran it up the box through a channel i cut for it that comes up the box and out the top , and another eye hook on the outside of the box , if i want to stop the feed i pull the rope it raises the flap and seals the food between the lid and the flap its almost air tight. And for a previous post i put a roof on top of the feeder that protects it from water

Dad's trying for closer and I know he'd rather get one free. I just hope we don't end up with another crazy roo like the one we sold last year. He was good at his job, he was just too mean.

This may be too far for you. But there is a free RIR on Craigslist.

Well, I received some eggs through the USPS today and it looks like someone had a really good time with them. I was surprised to only find one cracked. I figured when I opened it I would find just a gooey mess.

Wow! It did take a beating. Are the air sacs still in place?

Sounds delicious

Are you thinking of getting it for freezer camp?
